TOPIC: Best way to take numerous photos using mobile hip without slotting them

Re: Read this if thinking about a tablet. 10 years 9 months ago #56931

OK at least now I know HIP mobile may never be for me .
Thanks for the honest answer.

Is there any way at least to make it so mobile leaves a full resolution shot in gallery as well.

The whole point of wanting this is to be able to go into a picture and zoom in at full resolution if needed.
I recall last year HIP was doing that anyway by accident.

HIP actually wasn't but Samsung was doing it on its own.

I think it's a good option to have and will look into it. Especially if it sync'd automatically with dropbox or something.

I never said we weren't adding what you were asking for, I'm still trying to understand how it's faster than on the desktop and what the advantage of. As you know I try very hard not to clutter the software and mobile is even more important since it's used on such small screens.

Huh then why even have a mobile ?
Why would only clicking a canned comment be faster onsite than full functioning dropdown on desktop ? same question
Heck ,dropdown text takes much longer on a little cell phone or tablet than desktop as well.

1) I need to take a photo anyway because photos are my notes.
2) I might as well slot them at the same time and add captions so no further photo edit is required at home.
3) I do not even need text entry as a function of HIP mobile myself because I use photos for notes and will continue
to do so
4) Saying I am one of only a few is 100% incorrect and I could prove it with a poll at NACHI.
5) I am just more vocal about it because I want HIP to stay the best and not lose business to others .

To sum up the faster I can slot the better ...is that to much to ask for ?
Would anyone say no Dom keep it slow ?

Bob as you now we get hundreds of phone calls, emails and support tickets a day. We keep good notes of requests. When I say you two are the only to ask for a way to use HIP ONLY for pictures, but nothing else, I'm being honest! That MASS majority of people are doing all, if not almost all of their report on mobile, which is what it was designed for.

Clicking a canned comment on mobile may/may not be faster but guys like the smaller devices, so they don't use larger laptops/tablets. So we try to give them what they need.

I tried drawing out what you were talking about last night. We'd be able to fit one photo of a decent size, plus the two drop downs required on a screen at once. Are you looking to go through ALL pictures at one time, or just to slot them as you take them? I understand that you just want to sit in the Misc section and not actually navigate through the program.

Bob, you're absolutely wrong in thinking I don't understand pictures at that level. I've bought 3 houses in the last 10 years. All of them were done by hand picked inspectors that included at least 100 pics in the actual report, on purpose. I think pics are awesome. You're missing what my goal is. My goal is to FULLY UNDERSTAND what you guys are trying to accomplish and integrate it in a way that doesn't clutter small mobile devices and make it as useful as possible to everyone.

Hi Dom.

I have transferred over the following post which is on current tread discussing a similar issue.

Hi Dom

In most cases when using HIP mobile, opening up a section, clicking a comment and taking a picture is fine.

However, my main issue is when using the HIP mobile app is on the outside of the property.

This time of the year, it's raining c, 50% of the time and freezing the other 50%.

Trying to keep somewhat dry when clicking, clicking, clicking, clicking, clicking, clicking on the mobile app forces me not to use it and use the point and shoot camera and slot using desktop.

When it's not raining it freezing, I know from experience my fingers will not hack it if exposed to the freezing conditions over an extended period of time, that is needed with all the clicking.

This is why I would like to take pictures with the HIP mobile app (possible in Misl) and then slot them when I go inside the property which should be at least dry and normally warmer.

As a result of the practicalities of surveying, I revert back to the using the point and shoot camera.

I know I could used the HIP mobile when the weather is ok or when I go back indoors, but it easier to stick with one device (if possible) from the start to the end of the inspection.

In the meanwhile is it possible to have the pictures saved in HIP Misl to be uploaded along with the full report and then slotted while using the desktop

From my point of view the mobile hip system works well, but is not best suited for use in poor weather conditions with all the clicks involved. By being able to save a picture to Misl and slot later will overcome this.
I can understand why software programmers may not appreciate this point as they probably don't test the software when it raining outside.
