HI Bob
Have you taken the plunge and started using your Galaxy Note 8 / Galaxy Camera for note / picture taking or are you still using HIP windows and point and shoot camera. |

Have been using the HIP mobile on a more frequent basis and find that due to inclement weather conditions (I always start on the outside of the property) I have been leaving the android camera in my pocket and reverting back to the point and shoot camera.
Is there a simply way that I can use the HIP app to take outside photo's (similar to my point and shoot camera) and then slot them with comments / captions when I get out of the elements and enter the property. Currently I am saving these pictures into the phone gallery which is ok. However, I can't / unable to go into phone gallery and individually slot them into the relevant sections within the mobile app. (like the Batch add in the Desktop software). I know that I can go back into the HIP app and search for these photo's and then slot them, but this does not work out during a survey as you tend to forget some of the photo's you have taken and find yourself going back and forth between the HIP app and phone gallery to remember the context of all the photo's. In summary, is it possible to take random pictures within the HIP app (similar to point and shoot) and later slot them into the report when the time is right. |

Sure, click the photo button the main list of sections screen. That adds them to HIP Mobile but doesn't slot them.

Hi Pete.
The latter as there is just too much involved with slotting them for me personally. It is close but for instance the newest snap back feature is geared towards those typing text rather than photo guys like me in that you need to click back first in order to use it so it does not feel natural and is easy to forget. You still must backtrack all the way to start in order to select new categories for pictures so it is on the back burner. Keep hoping some love will be thrown that way with ability to take a shot and simply use dropdowns perhaps like in windows but for now just waiting. Meanwhile it is simpler and faster to use my regular camera and slot them on desktop . Tablet is nice for couch surfing and coffee shops. Android smart camera I practice with but never sees the field anymore after many tries. I can use it easily in misc pretty fast and add caption comments so that is not the issue meaning it is all about slotting speed. Just using for captions I prefer to trade it in for better resolution. |
