What version of Home Inspector Pro are you running? This was fixed about 8 months ago in Home Inspector Pro 3. Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic. Okay, that could explain the pics then if you'd click on open inspection at some point. Make sure to upgrade to HIP 3 when you can as this has been fixed.

Go to your Client Data folder, right click on the inspection file, click Properties->Previous versions and see if there are any save points from before the pics were lost.
