Again, no offense intended, those are just the first possibilities which have to be ruled out. From talking with Dom about this over the last months, the more info about the specifics of what you were doing when you experienced the photo loss the better.
Did you have other programs running in the background, i.e. Norton? A scanning or backup program? Did you edit, remove or add any specific photo just before saving? Did you open and close the program just before the loss? You can also get data from the HIP.log file in the HIP "Data" folder which may have info about when and what happened. Collecting all that info may be a mute point because from what I understand, Dom has tracked down the culprit and fixed the issue in the next update. Until then, save and save often. |

What Cameron said, it's VERY important to recognize that Generate Report's save prompt does NOT save the inspection, it only saves the PDF. I've seen quite a few inspectors rely on the saving at Generate Report and Program Exit thinking they were covered. Then when they exit and click no to saving they only end up with the PDF.
The issue Cameron and a few others were having came from double clicked in the Edit Photo button and then exiting out of one in a particular way. This is why it has been so hard to track down and duplicate all this time. As Cameron mentioned, this has been fixed in HIP 3.0 which is coming out soon. |

Yes I saved at the generate report prompt, viewed the report, saved the report and then cliked on add edit photos button so I could rotate a photo only to find that none of the photos were there in the report any more. I had never closed the inspection or HIP at this point.
I have not been offended by your questions at all, just concerned and frustrated, mostly concerned. |

It could have been the double click on edit bug mentioned before. It's already been fixed in 3.0 which will be out shortly. Or a corrupt photo and I've built in more protection for that too.

I loaded all my photos from yesterdays inspection into report. No other windows open, saved report exited out. Checked photos they were there. Deleted photos from camera for next inspection. Opened software, started new report. This morning I reopened inspection from yesterday. MY PHOTOS ARE GONE!!!! Very frustrated, this is a large commercial inspection with 196 photos. Any comments??
