Drew I am as confused as Domk here and I have a giant list of things I wish photo edit could do .

My take is you want the dropdown list to function in captions the way it does on the text edit side .
Am I correct ?

If I am wrong then it might be you are not aware of the fact you can add [caption] on the text edit side to make a prefilled drop list under your slotted photos in photo edit.

The program does already have a editor by the way assuming we are speaking about desktop.

What Dom mentioned was typing your text comments and repeating them under the photos which is backwards as I use photos for notes as many if not most of us do so we start at photo edit to slot and add captions before writing the report.

Guys do it both way however.

Yes you are correct. I want to AVOID the photo editing page altogether.
Instead of having notes narrative Caption textCaption textCaption textCaption textCaption textCaption textCaption text that I have to go to the photo editor drop down to sift through, which is literally a speed bump.

I would like to see  notes narrative %%Caption Drop down Variable%% that I can set at the same time as my narrative lists, so it auto populates in the photo editor without my ever going there.

Drew how would any program know which to caption?
Example...
I take 5 exterior wall shots and wish to caption front, rear, North side, South side, missing brick.
Implication is they still need photo edit to slot under the exterior wall covering component title and even then how would you decide from text comment side which would be captioned with what?
Actually I have been begging for the opposite where captions become text comments which actually would be possible at some point.

Drew how would any program know which to caption? I don't know how, there are uber bright minds here for that.

That's fine, I will go back in my cave and continue to dream. ;)
