TOPIC: HIP mobile vs tablet

OK I have used the mobile for 3 inspections. I have had some issues of freezing, taking a long time to save, the program telling me I have no template or inspection when I do have one. I am not sure if the freezing is a function of the program or my device Samsung Galaxy SIII. Sometimes it tells me that it is saving the inspection and it stays like that for 40 minutes. I end the program and somehow the inspection did get saved, but it freaks me out and makes me nervous I will lose an inspection. I want to use a tablet or the device so I do not have to take a picture for everything I report. I do like the auto save feature, that is nice to have.

I think I would like to use a tablet though. Am I correct that I can use any tablet I want no matter the operating system and be able to transfer the file between operating systems? What minimum specs are required?

Michael.. The freezing issue is due to the app. It is not able to run for more than 30mins. Its best to save close down and restart. It takes a few extra secs. but its worth it. I to use my phone sometimes my 7inch android tablet. Good luck.

Joe what tablet do you use? What are the specs?

Mike click Back a few times every hour or so then re-enter the app. If you have the latest beta it will last longer before the device starts to slow and run out of memory. They just aren't meant to run for hours on end. You can use a Windows, Android or iPad tablet. Do not get Windows 8 RT, it won't work.

I tried that today. I would exit the program every 45 minutes or so and it worked better.

Is there a specific amount of memory I should get for a tablet? I was looking at the HP slate, but they have several versions.

Windows tablets don't have the problem. It's specific to limitations in Android devices.
