Scott have you tried the Note 8 ?
Was comparing that with the mini I pad and was impressed with the stylus function of the Note tablet though it costs more $399 vs $329.

Have you not been tempted to have a look at the new samsung android galaxy s4 zoom tablet. Battery lift is twice as good as the first version of the camera and the optical zoom is much faster as all you have to do is turn the zoom knob to get a close up.

No, I have not tried Note 8... I'm so happy with my full size iPad, I stopped looking at other computer gadgets. 

Been looking at all the tablets as if obsessed and really like the new nexus 7 for the money compared to the mini I pad.
CNET says it is the best.
Biggest bummer is lack of micro sd card capability. Yes been checking out all the Samsung as well.
The note series has the s pen and quad processor making them the best in android for much more money however.
May simply go with the nexus as it has the best screen and fastest wifi plus touch response.
The 10 inch Samsung note is amazing but At 499 kills it for me.
269 gets me same speed and camera on the nexus.
Like that it uses the newest jellybean as well.

I think we should all wait for a  7inch that runs a full window 8. that way we can complete and email off the report before we even leave the house.
