I am giving thought to using ratings other than Good, Fair, Poor etc. Thinking of categories like Inspected, Not Inspected, Safety Hazard, Repair/replace, Defect....
Would you all be willing to share your categories? |

I tried that and but there is limited room for the text and "Repair/Replace" gets broken up into two lines.

I actually would use abbreviations...I-Yes, I-No, S-Haz, Dfect, R/R or something like that. What I'm getting at is the type of category. Many seem to use no rating at all. Some no longer use Good, Fair, Poor etc. If I'm going to use a ratings box at all, it should serve some purpose beyond the narrative. Wondering what the thought process is for those that use the boxes, what the considerations were and why the rating system was chosen...make sense?

Originally ratings existed because most guys were transitioning from checklist reports. So it was middle ground that guys felt comfortable with. As time has gone on more and more guys have stopped using it. Some only use it on certain types of inspections.

I've actually started building a template that has ratings in the "Observations" section. "Serviceable" "Repair, Replace, Evaluate" "Near, At or Beyond Lifespan" with the later two posted in red.
