I totally get that...just on the fence about whether the boxes make those 3 categories jump out better for the reader, in addition to the good narrative.

I run a separate copy because sometimes there are comments unique to a particular home that I would not want included in my narratives. If something hasn't come up after 8+ years, chances are it may not come up again. I occasionally find an error within longer narratives that isn't a spelling issue but a typo nonetheless. Besides, with the crappy spell check, it highlights too many legitimate words so I tend to ignore it. Not only that, but sometimes I move things around or want to copy wording out of a section that has not been worked on so I don't want it "greened" in the tabs. Sometimes I am working on a specialty template and I want the info in my default template or vice versa. There are any number of reasons to have the 2nd copy open.
As for boxes making things jump out, I don't think so. When there are so many boxes, the reader becomes oblivious after a while. If it needs repair, state it. If it needs replacement, state it. I wouldn't state repair or replace without explanation but then that may just be me. JMHO. |

There is nothing sweeter than the smell of fresh cut grass on a baseball infield, the click of a wooden bat and the taste of a hot dog at a warm sunny daytime double-header.

Dan...Ditto Stephen's 2nd paragraph. Also..if there's and issue with something, I already have it in "red" which means it's also going to stand out, and be in the Summary. The "good" narratives are in black.
It's still your personal choice. I've seen so many competitive reports that are just crap. Use your report to help market yourself. I recently did a presentation to 30 local business' on my reporting method compared to my competitors. One way is not wrong or right...but keep your "reader" in mind. |

Stephen, if you edit the comment on the right side of red/black it wil not save to your template, only to that inspection. It needs to be changed on the left for it to become a permanent change.

Then why make the comment about not wanting to save all narratives? Who bid on my boxers?
