Looks like I missed this post .
Joe you are the first guy I know that has one. Please post here any issue you have so we can share experience. Are you having any issue with double folders at all being created ? Would you like to see the take a picture process sped up ? Personally I find it takes just a little too long with a few clicks maybe not needed in a future update hopefully. The comments and typing is very fast however and search as you type can be a big help. Remember to keep the flash out as it is manual... |

your right about the Flash. Over all I do like the camera. I really have not had any problems. My biggest problem is that screen is small. However I'm used to a tablet. Of course faster is always better. I'm sure that will come in time.. HINT HINT.. I still do finish the report at home. However that is how I'm. I have always wanted to ask you guys How do you inspect in that cold weather.. brrrr. I lived in Chicago for 30+ years. and the one thing I don't miss is the cold... |

Samsung have released a new wifi only version of the same android camera. The price is expected to be a lot more competitive according to some blogs. With your experience so far using the android camera, is it the main piece of equipment that you use automatically for taking all the information on site or do you still rely on windows based options. Interesting my clock is off in the forum as Dom's post shows 7:02 pm but it is one hour earlier here ....I digress.
I have no AT@T contract (Sprint) so use it for wifi only already. To be 100% honest here I do not use it much because of lag time between shots. Not into the whole click a comment thing so I bought the camera in order to cut report time in half at home as I usually take 200 shots at an average home and spend an average of 15 seconds @ to add captions (directional or material) and sometimes an illustration (not much). So back to the camera when taking a picture on a regular camera such as my Sony series cameras I simnply click and it has instant focus which has me talking to a client, running up stairs and shooting with no break in my pace. Now with the Galaxy Camera I need to first scroll to a main catagory such as "interior" click it to open my sub catagories "door" then click that which opens the door comment. At the bottom left side I will find a "camera icon" which I must click which would be great if the camera zoomed out at that point but it does not so you must click the camera icon which then opens another screen and you are asked if you wish to "take a picture" or hunt through the gallary.at that point you can then "take the picture" but it does not end there as you must now "click save "..."Click to add a caption" ...."click confirm"...which then takes you back not to doors or interior but takes you back to "take a picture ". What that means is you must hit the back button twice to get back to "interior sub catagories if you wish to move on with the next picture of say "windows" Sounds like a lot of clicking because it is. Dom is working to make the camera feature faster but at this point for me it takes a little too long because of my need to take many pictures....What a camera is for ,right .lol. My average with the clicks I described is 15 seconds and that can not (repeat) can not be speeded up at this point in time. Before you spend $600 like I did take all of this into concideration. P.S my average picture taking time on the HTC EVO LTE is 8 seconds which is a major difference. (part of this is because of the zoom and shutter lag to be fair and also the interphase is a little different between the two.) You may wish to wait just a little bit longer and use the phone camera for general shots but add a regular camera for zoom shots till the speed is faster or improved on the next generation (and or) through HIP updates.. |
