TOPIC: NiFast Template

The new Nifast inspection will be more intense than the prior one. I will price mine around $200-$250. I am going to try and lobby insurance companies to look for this with renewals on homeowners policies. Similar to what Citizens does with FL. 4 point inspections. There are also some elements of the SOP which make it suitable for commercial work, although it is a residential inspection.

BTW don't look for Nifast to help you lobby anyone if that is your course of action. They are a little disappointing in that department.

Hi. Casey, and regarding assisted living, this is covered 100% under commercial design up here. Apartments also have the same or comparable design criteria. Covered under NFPA 101 Life Safety of the IBC.
So that eliminates those possibilities for me up here.  

Thanks Marcel...I'll do more research on the MN side of things, but I'd guess things are pretty much the same, commercial vs. residential.  I think that's the biggest hang up for most people; why do they want to pay for a fire inspection when the municipality takes care of it yearly for nothing? 
Drew:  I'd agree things are a little slow in coming from NiFast.  They've had some good ideas, but not much has come of it yet.  I think having an SOP will make it more legit...???  ;D
