TOPIC: Two New Templates

John, if you have 2 reports, one detailed and one I assume not detailed, would it affect your liability?

No, Everything is still inspected and reported.  Its the way I do the report.  I will try to get some samples done and uploaded as soon as I can.

Okay here are the two reports. 

The first one is the detailed report.  It took me 2 hours and 15 min to create.  It shaved off about an hour from my current report time and it was the first time I used it.  I also did make some modification to the template during this process.

The second one is the short report.  It took me about 30 minutes to create.


Both templates meet Oklahoma laws.  As I created these templates, I checked off all the requirements as I went.


Take a look and tell me what you think of both.

Thanks... Now for the big question.  Would you pay an extra $75 for the detailed report if you were a customer? 

I understand what you are trying to do, I think. But, if both reports meet the States SOP, then I see no need for 2 reports. But, I think it is a bad idea. If you tell your client that you have 2 reports, and one is a detailed report, and one is short. They will wonder what you left out of the short report. The clients expectation is that they will receive a detailed report. All HI's advertise that we perform thorough inspections, so the client expects a detailed report. Trying to sell them the detailed report is almost like blackmail. It is like saying "I know something about the house, but I am not telling you until you pay more money". I know your not doing that, but it will be the clients perception, and their perception is their reality.

I guess I am wondering exactly what is different abut the 2 reports? I noticed less pictures in the short. It is difficult to compare them side by because items have been moved. So tell us the difference.

John, I would expect a full detail report nothing less I would not pay $75.00 more.  I would have to agree with Mike the lower cost report would make me think what am I getting.
