TOPIC: Two New Templates

I already charge extra for pool and Spa inspections. When I get a call I ask them if they have a pool and or Spa and if they would like it inspected and tell them it would be a extra charge,So far no complaints and all have agreed to it.

Okay fellas, I sat down with the ol wife and talked about this stuff with her.  We talked and crunched numbers and decided that it would be too risky and too difficult to try and market the two templates (at this time).  What I need to do is get a little computer to take to the inspection.  I'm hoping this will shed another hour off the report generation time.  And get me closer to where I want to be.

We figured if I could shed another hours off the entire inspection process, if would be the same as getting a $13.75 an hour raise without actually raising my prices.

Louie, he is saying he would be getting a pay raise of $13.75/hour. Add that to his current hourly wage.

I would like to get into doing spa and pool inspections but I don't know anything about them yet.  I'll have to learn, that will come with time.

The $13.75 comes from a comparison of how much time is saved generating the report on site.  Say it takes me 5 hours to do an inspection.  $275/5 hrs = $55 per hour.  If I get the computer and it can save me, lets say an hour, that's $275/4 hrs = $68.75.

$68.75-$55=$13.75 per hour difference between the two.  Meaning if it takes me less time to do the same work your making more money per hour without raising prices (more efficient).

Does that make sense now?

John, save that short report. If you begin to do inspections outside of a real estate transaction, you can use it. When I do component inspections, I use a form that is just for that component. Do you ever get calls to do an inspection for an existing homeowner?

Oh I will save it.  I have gotten calls for component inspection before and I have gone out to do a couple.  But after I got to thinking about it I got worried that this might not be a good thing as the state law tells us what we are to inspect.  I do see your point though.
