Kevin,
There are many different makers of cameras with plenty of options for you to choose from. Look around other message boards for Thermal Imaging sections and you can find personal opinions about different ones. I have a FLIR T-400. It is not inexpensive. Also, make sure you get the education necessary to do the job right. |

And make sure you get a camera with the minimum resolution for our industry. You go too cheap and it will be useless to you.

At this point we are using a FLIR "SD" it is about 3 years old and we now have enough IR work to by one for myself.

Kevin,
I just purchased the Fluke TiR1 just a little under 6k. John McKenna worked out deal with Tom Black, a Fluke distributor. I've only had it a couple of weeks so don't have anything to compare it to. us.fluke.com/usen/products/Fluke+TiR1.ht...y=THG(FlukeProducts) http://[img]http:// |

Keven - don't go cheap. Get some training. Then practice, practice, and request more training if you think you might need. IR can fake you out if you are not experienced.
Minimum resolution on the camera should be 120x120, but after using it a while you might find you should have bought 160x120, which is what Dave K bought. Again, don't go cheap. I have had the RAZ-IR for 4 years. It is half price now of when I bought it! But, as an MBA, I never finance. I always pay for things. I would not lease anything, but all that financial stuff is up to you. |
