Yeah,I was checking them out in stores for a while now and even the cheap $299 ones can go Macro at a 2inch range.
The problem is in getting info on editing and tagging or bookmarking.

The stores for obvious reasons do not allow you to hook them up to a USB port and see edit options.

Stop the presses
My Real Player just this minute upgraded to 1.1.2 and includes still shot saves to go along with slow motion ,still shot book marking.
