TOPIC: Camera specs.

If you have the high quality zoom, you can get the plates without the problem. But you're correct that if you have high megapixles you can take a larger image and then crop later, but that's extra work. It also takes longer to import into HIP as the auto resize takes longer on larger photos.

Anyone here using a camcorder and grabbing still shots for the report off the camcorder.
With 50 times zoom ,i would like to know if that would work out as they all have a still shot button now.

You could video and the still shot would be linear for easy placement is my thinking.

My camera videos are great for cut and paste but am wondering if I should switch to a cam.

Would like for vids to run consecutively as if on pause.

Just one file that way.

Bob, I thought about it. You can do the video and grab images from the video too, and you can always just take a regular photo with it. I would not video the whole inspection, just certain parts. But, I think it is a feasible idea.

What plates are you talking about?

I am talking run the video with every comment and still shot as you watch but am wondering how the still shot quality would compare
It is so easy to grab shots and have them go straight to save in your picure folder with any basic clip software
I use faststone but light screen is free

I think you'd spend way too much time going through 2 hours of video to take your stills.
