Please HELP!
I am new to HIP and have spent countless hours building a custom template. I opened the template today and all my work is gone, just a blank menu appears. All other templates are still there. I saved all my work on HIP as I went but haven't saved it on any kind of back up yet. I don't even know how this could happen. Anybody have this happen to them? Mike |

Could you have saved it under another template name?
Have you done any reports that you have saved, even a test report? |

Thanks for the quick response. I just found my template. It looks like I have two software programs HIP and HIP3 and it was in the other file location. Just downloaded a copy to my external hard drive. Man I thought two months of cutting , pasting, building a user friendly boiler plate and just gone. I'll be sure to back up on a regular basis from now on just in case.

Wait, I am trying to get a copy of this to my hard drive. Any suggestions on how to save it. It's not like sending photos. Is there a link on HIP?

You have to save individual files. Go into the HIP folder and select the Data folder that contains the Templates. Save that to your HD. Creat a folder for the Saved Data in your HD.
If that is what you are trying to do, get a hold of HIP support. (I am assuming you are using a PC). |

Note: Along with my external HD, I also use Carbonite which saves all my (assigned) files whenever my computer is booted up. I never have to worry about forgetting to back up anything. I do have my processes, but a backup to a backup is a major relief. Trust me... I lost EVERYTHING a few years ago, and have never recovered 100% from it. Now I have peace of mind!
Here's a referral link for anyone that would like to check out Carbonite: refer.carbonite.com/a/clk/1cnfP |
