TOPIC: Android Camera for mobile) anyone else using it ?

Bob, Dom.

Yes, the windows tablets (Dell, Samsung, HP and many more) will also have built in cameras, as per android / apple tables.

With an 7 - 8 inch screen it should be easy to navigate around the sections as is already the case with a desktop.

Hopefully the built in camera will be able to take the majority of my pictures and the "new and improved" HIP windows software will allow me to slot pictures (using the built in camera) as I take them as is the case in Android.

I will also have a point and shoot camera for pictures that will require zooming and / or more light. These pictures can be added by Batch import at the end of the inspection as before.

Pete I took a better look at your link to the Sony device.
That actually looks interesting.

Especially when the Sony lens does not need to be physically attached to any device (except via wifi). If the HIP mobile software allowed you to directly take pictures via the new Sony Lens instead of the HIP mobile software defaulting to the built in camera it could be an interesting addition.

However, the new Windows based 7 - 8 inch tablets (along with the hopefully impending Search function and import picture feature using the built in camera in the windows tablet) become available along the the with HIP windows software additions... this should beat the pants off everything else for date collection on site and completing the report on site.

What pictures the lower quality built in tablet camera cannot take (the tablet pictures would be directly slotted in the relevant sections, as per existing slotting of pictures) would be added to at the end of the inspection by Batch importing and slotting a limited number of pictures which would be taken by a point and shoot camera.
