TOPIC: Android Camera for mobile) anyone else using it ?

Re: Android Camera for mobile) anyone else using it ? 11 years 2 months ago #54718

Pete I am not sure what the point would be .
1) cost as much or more than the entire Samsung smart camera.
2) does not change the primary super tiny optical lens of the tablet, etc.
3) makes the entire thing bulky.
4) time spent putting on and taking off.

1)If you want zoom then use the Samsung Android camera)
2)Switch to a regular camera for the zoom shots
3) Stay with desktop version.

If you watch the video in the previous post, it would appear that you could use your Samsung Note 8 or Nexus 7 and enter your data. The camera on the Note 8 or Nexus 7 may be good enough to take standard photos, but what I am hoping is that the new Sony Lens can be used for pictures that you would normally take using a pointb and shoot, but if the HIP app allowed could be entered directly into the report.

Result would be a decent size tablet and a Sony Lens that may allow pictures to be entered directly into the report.

I keep looking at different options and I still can't break away from HIP windows, its 100% reliable and always works.

I guess when Dom adds the search mode for finding comments in HIP windows and also allows pictures to be inserted as with HIP mobile it will be a super improvement for HIP users, using HIP windows.

Bear in mind that there are a number of 7 inch windows pro tablets to be launch in October.

Do you mean inserting pics on Windows with a built in camera?

That would not be so great.
The mobile slotting takes more time than the desktop version.

Desktop is almost perfect in many ways unless you look at docs, etc.

Like the search idea however as that is the cool feature in mobile.
It is a little limiting in that it does not search across main sections but is needed in mobile to avoid all the scrolling
and does a fine job.

The picture slotting would be great if you could just take the picture then double slot like in desktop which is the opposite of your wish list.
I have put a ton of thought into that one.

The reason (my guess)Dom does not do it that way is because of the desire for majority to do text comments
then take a picture on occasion. My method is against the herd in that I prefer lots of pictures for notes.

Dom must balance the apps and software for all users.
