TOPIC: Android Camera for mobile) anyone else using it ?

I agree the predictive is amazing. In fact I use mine on my cell phone all the time.
I use the camera for H.I. when my clients are staying around. boosting my time to about 30 minutes more. Not to big of a deal its just that much less time at home.  its all about having your comments in order. so all your doing is click click click..

I use the camera for slotting pictures which is a different use compared to you.
Otherwise why have the Android ?

I take at least 200 pictures on a home.

Clients love that they can see the issue and location
rather than try and understand our tech inspector speak.

My Sony goes up to 400 shots on one battery.
Lucky the Android includes a freebie  however if I get rolling will need a few more.

Thanks to merge I could switch to the phone camera and blend them together if needed.

Just slotting and adding captions at home adds 30 to 60 minutes on my reports at an average of 15 secs@
I can go 8 seconds @ if totally focused which is rare.

Often spend 90 minutes on the text side but bear in mind my reports are very detailed.
In Chicago we have many more types of structures and issues than most places
so I find most Inspectors here take at least 3 hours on a report.

Slightly off topic, in setting up the template for android mobile, I find one selection panel and one damage panel per issue works well. Anything more then that, cramps the screen.
You end up with more main headings, but makes searching for comments on a smaller screen easier.

Also it's probably faster with the search option to leave out the drop down menu and use the search function.

PS, will the option to place pictures in the Summary be available on HIP mobile.

Peter there is no summary in the mobile because it is not the end product .
You must upload to the desktop version which has that feature.

I can take you even further on search.

you could get real creative and have 100 comments with fast find as follows.

add a abreviation before each comment

Kitchen  / sink /leaks becomes
ksl

Exterior wall covering is brick becomes
ewcb

Asphalt roof material is curled becomes
armc

The idea is you type less to pop up a comment.

Peter, yes that option will be added. Bob he means like the new HIP feature in Photos Add/Review photos to add pics to the summary as well as the body of the report.

If reference to search, (ie, Exterior wall covering is brick becomes
ewcb).

I haven't considered that option yet, but do you plan to insert the "EWCB" within the Note at the beginning of relevant comments.

Also, does the content within the Note come up in search, as these notes are not printed in the report.
