Jeffrey,
I tried to post a link but the sample report is not showing up again on the website. I don't know how to attached the PDF to the message board. I also understand all are trying to help as I have worn Dominic out. But Dominic also said that 6 to 8 hours average on a report is way to long. I also write my narratives based on each inspection. But what I have learned is if I had a light weight tablet in the field, just check and move the canned narratives, and take the pictures with a good tablet, I could batch add the pictures on site, and then go back to the office and change safety or major issue narratives, leave the can narratives for loose handles, etc and I could cut my time down by 1 to 2 hours. As I listed before, right now I just make notes, take pictures and then go back and start the report. Note. Where could you rent a Tablet for a week? |

Steven, click on Reply rather than just typing in the below below and you'll see a place to attach your report. I agree, that's an important thing for us to look at.

Steven I just walked in and did look at your report.
like me you add lots of detail. My average report is close to 70 pages(3 hour average) however I include a tip section which cuts down on some of the redundancy. I take average 200-300 shots and disagree with Dom as far as amount goes as I like have a documentation of all conditions which could also be achieved with a 2 minute video as I have done off and on over the last few years. The issue with that is I have found myself grabbing still shots off the video to enhance the report at times which makes it take longer. Time spent is as follows.....aprox 10-15 sec each picture.90 minutes on the report text and and addition of intro/client/agent. "Back to you" I see you add unneeded caption comments which are redundant since you have a large number of tabs to slot them anyway. Try and simply give directional captions such as "north bedroom".......1st floor bathroom.(that is enough) I have also cut some time by combining where possible such as having one Bathroom tab rather than having three separate sections for 3 Bathrooms. Simply add number of Bathrooms in material comments with a intro that comments are combined for all three.(make sense)? Trying to see if I can fine tune more by having less tabs used (not eliminated from template however) and using them mainly for issues only. |

Where is the note feature? I am always losing track of my comments. I am going to be pissed if I didn't know that this would help me find them faster and I didn't know.
Oh, and Bob, you inspect like a little girl!! |

What the hell do you mean by that remark?
I was going to help you till I read that. Dom is there a deduct Karma feature? P.S only going on a diet will help you get faster. This is for anyone other than Merino (do not read) visual tag can be found by adding new comment as it is next to the new list and (recall) feature. |
