I use the Samsung Galaxy 8.9" and love it. It has handwriting recognition but it stinks right now. Get a Windows tablet like the HP Slate 2 if you plan on doing handwriting in the field.

Dominic,
What happened to the hype about the droid. I just sent a request for your input on a Droid Phone and Tablet. The Iphone 4s or GS has a terrible warranty, so I was looking at a Samsung Galaxy SII and purchasing a Motorola 32GB Droid Tablet, and get the new software. Now you have me confused. I think I will go bury my head in the sand now. |

The Galaxy is an Android and Android is a operating system not a particular phone.
Unlike iphone there are many different types of Android phones with some being better than others. |

Thanks Bob. All this differance in OS systems has me confused. Dominic answered me on the Phone and Tablet. Its not fair to put him on the spot, but I really needed his expert advise. I have no doubts on the phone, but still torn on what tablet now. My wife told me that the guy at US Cellular told her she could link her Android phone to her microsoft OS. I will need to do more homework now.

Steve ,to be honest buying the Android phone and Android tablet is redundant.
They will have the same features such as (search as you type) and same limitations such as no batch photo upload ,etc. My eyes are older also however I like the idea of one handed operation and finish at home. My own opinion is that if I use a tablet why not a regular windows PC with full desktop version on a tablet pc, though some may find the Mobile version faster to their own personal style. Keep in mind that you could have a slate like tablet (just like i pad) which is phone system operated or a real pc tablet. |

Yup, like Bob said. There's no reason to get both Android phone and tablet if you're going to use the phone for data entry. If you want to use a tablet onsite, get the HP Slate 2 (Windows 7). If you want to use a phone on site, get an Android phone.
