Anyone using Voice recognition with HIP? I can't type fast and being from NY I can sure speak muuuuuuuuuch faster... I was wondering if anyone has used programs like Dragon to integrate with HIP and what experiences have they had???
I really don't want to spend for the program if the learning curve is humongous!!!! Would appreciate comments and opportunity to discuss with users. Steve,
Some of the guys here have used it and like it. I myself have an early program of dragon, but I am unable to get my loving wife to spend that quality time with me to learn. Search the message board, if not Dominic or Sir-Dan can point you in the right direction. If you get any good information, pass it along, I can use the help. Here's a thread discussing it, plus I'm sure some people might chime in.

"I don't leave home without it!"
The new versions of Dragon practically come out of the box with no training requirement except maybe 5 min. of an initial read a story to your computer type thing. I found that the professional version versus the home version are practically identical in operation (from what I can see). I had some trouble on an older computer with the professional version and I downgraded to the home version, pocketed some money and it works as well if not better. I even can use it on a small netbook computer and it works exceptionally well. I dictate the majority of my reports as I find it faster in the long run and you provide an individual report for every inspection. As far as speaking fast because you're from NY, dictation programs today work on phrases not individual words. So you no longer have to talk like a moron for it to work. It will frequently even correct your grammar when you say something wrong accidentally. I have been using different wordprocessing programs over many years and they have come a long way. |

David,
My wife has the Naturally Speaking 9 with their recommended Mic. But she said its pretty hard, because it takes time for it to understand the user. Would the (9) work or would it be better to get a newer model like you said that works just about on its on out of the box. I scared the socks off Dominic when I told him how long it takes for me to do my reports. It sure would be great to do a report in 2-3 hours instead of how long it takes now. Please give me your recommendation. |

Yes it will definitely work with Dragon 9, it just gets better with each version as David stated above.
