Dragon is very hit or miss for me when working directly into HIP. I have had very little success with the cut and past functions in HIP so I don't even go there. Maybe it's the Java thing. Some days it will work flawlessly, others it's a PITA.  No rhyme or reason for it. It just hangs and refuses to work requiring a restart of the application and occasionally a full reboot of the computer to clear out the hang up. Most annoying.

Did you try it with the third party app off?

I've been using Dragon for a long time.  After I started using HIP, the version 10.0 of Dragon Standard I was using got all hinky and would hang or crash, but only in HIP.  guess it did not like the java. I finally got fed up and went looking on Nuance's site for an answer. I hesitated to go there since, in my past experience, their tech support is crappy for the free support as minimal as that is and I refuse to pay for the next tier.

(I do software reviews as a hobby on the side and reviewed one of there premium packages a year or so ago, not Dragon though. All the reviewers on my panel bitched about having to pay for support after 30 days. This was for a $500 package no less. WTH? No support for that much money?)

Anyway....I found the answer!!  They offered a "patch", an update actually to 10.1 that is designed to work with the Windows 7, 64 bit version OS I use now.  It worked SWEET!  Dragon now snaps and pops, does not hang and is even more accurate. Since it was a "new" version, I had to do the minimal training thing but that's all.
It's a godsend for building templates. ;D

Just thought I would give you guys a heads up that Dragon NaturallySpeaking is available for $99.95 and is expiring this month.

Many times program upgrades are not significant upgrades, but in the case of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 there is a "significant change"! I have never seen such a difference in any of the versions that I have purchased in the past nine years a summation point

The entire program runs differently and handles situations in a more efficient and effective process. It is designed to run on multi dual core processor computers (which I have). I have not tested them on smaller machines yet.

My upgrade to version 11 did not go very well and I had to downgrade from professional to home to make it work on the smaller machines. I now run a computer with four processors and I figured I would try the upgrade. There are numerous options I have not even explored yet, but the speed, accuracy and improvements are significant and I just wanted to let you guys know.

I have tested it on home inspector Pro software and it operates flawlessly. You can even "call out" the drop-down boxes in the photo section without dropping down the box! Just click which box and say the Name, "done"!

Home inspector Pro software is not a program associated with Dragon (such as Microsoft Word, Excel etc.). If Dragon has too much trouble associating with another software it simply pops open a dictation box where you can have all the control and dictation speed and accuracy that you have within Dragon itself. When you're done, you just click "transfer" and it puts it at your cursor. It's all done automatically and extremely fast and saves about five clicks compared to cutting and pasting.

I can't wait to see how this thing works when it learns how I actually talk! :-)
