TOPIC: A Little On The Commercial Side III

Well, went back this week to wrap up this little project.
Backfilling was done and had to shore up the fiberglass deck panels to support the load of 10" of concrete.
This little pad weighed in at approx. 30,000 lb.'s.
These are a couple of pictures of the shoring using adjustable shore columns rated for 10,000 # a piece. I had 14 of them to properly support the 4x4's used.




And we can't forget the reinforcing steel can we? And lots of it.



And another waterstop added here at the wall and slab juncture.


Poured it Wenesday afternoon.


Now, more waterproofing membrane and primer added on the top.


B2 Primer


Lap sealant at all the joints.


More membrane on the top and protection board using a 1" 25# density Dow Styrofoam.
And the job is done.

Thanks Marcel.  I'm sure the shore posts are capable of supporting the weight but I am surprised that the fiberglass deck could support the concrete over that span.

That sure is a lot of re-bar.

Wish I could remember the product name Bert, but those panels cost $32 a linial foot and are rugged as hell.
They are actually inverted for what they are normally used for. They come with smooth finish or rough finish and used on Aircraft carriers.
They have a 1-1/2" T section every 4". Made ten cuts with a carbide blade and the carbide was gone, and I mean gone of the blade.
Had to use a grinder with abrasive wheel to open the manhole access. Cut like butter, but the dust will kill you.
