TOPIC: New 10" CTL 2go Tablet

Any issues using a Windows based tablet then loading it to my MAC to finish the report?

I guess I am still confused on how I make sure both systems have the same templates and comments.

None what so ever. I used to flip between MAC and windows all the time. I used an HP 2 slate prior to the 7" Samsung Galaxy.

Anyone using an Ipad mini? I wonder if that would be good to use.

What is the difference between HP slate and Slate2?

The HP is less expensive and I am leaning towards that, but the HP only has 1gb RAM.

I still use my 3+ year old CTL with Windows 7 OS on site and when I get home I drag the Inspection comments from HIP Client Data to Dropbox and then open HIP on the Mac and drag from Dropbox to Client Data on the Mac. It is quick and easy. I keep my Master Template on the Mac and whenever a change is made to that Template I change the file name to reflect the date the change was made and then drag to Dropbox and from there to the CTL and save as the Template to load when starting HIP.. Again quick and easy. We can do it step by step on the phone if you want to.

Mike... I use a IBM Thinkpad x41t. I run the full ver of Windows. If you use a Thinkpad, or CTL, or HP Slate 2, there is no uploading.  You are running the full ver of HIP...not the Mobile App used on Android or Ipad. As Drew mentioned, he is using the "mobile app".  It comes down to personally preference and your own style.

John, I may have to call you when I get my tablet. So if you make a change to the template or comments in the field, they will be transferred to your MAC version via the dropbox?

Is the CTL easy to use? John, you are not that far from me, about 85 miles. I wonder if you would allow me to buy you lunch and I can check out your system.

Dan, I have no style, just ask my daughters!! I really want to try to do my reports in the field, at least have most of it done, then add images and finish it up at the office. I don't want to spend a ton on a device in case it doesn't fit my work process. There are a ton of devices to choose from, so I think it may be best for me to have something entry level.
