TOPIC: Edit Documents

Hi all
I am working on an intro for my reports. I wrote it up in Word perfect X5 and copied it into HIP. At some point it removed all my formatting and bunched everything up. I edited it within the HIP editor, and printed up a report to find that in the pdf it went right back to the original mess although it looked fine from within the editor. I did a save, and restarted the program to find that the document was messed up again and I am going to have to re edit it again. This has happened 3 times now and I can not seem to get it right. Is there something that I am doing wrong?

Bringing cut and paste data from an outside program will not work in the HIP documents section. There is formatting data which comes with the ? text which does not work in HIP. HIP documents use HTML formatting. When inserting text, copy it to Notepad first then re-copy it to HIP.

As far as the bunching up of text, I have had the same issue as well even if I start a document native inside HIP. The only work around I have found is to add "......" before indented or line separated text to keep it from bunching up. Then I color the periods all white so they are not visible on the final document. It looks like this(from my invoice document):

Ok I will try that thanks. I am assuming that if I add color or bold the font I won't have a problem?

Correct, those all work if you build the formatting in HIP only.

Thanks Cameron, everything worked out well.I know that the templates tend to be an ever evolving thing so this is just the first few steps.
I just had a look at your website. I have to admit that I like your idea to have a very streamlined one page site. I was wondering how it has worked out for you? I am working on a second site right now and am having to work on about 7 pages of information, layouts, images and the like. Do you get a lot of customers from your site or is most of your business through other mediums? I have been reading on a few marketing sites that we are getting into an age where less info is better as most people are information overloaded and do not read most of what is available anyway.
