These are a few of what I found on an inspection today. The AC unit's flashing above and below is obvious, with associated problems on the siding. Inside the house the gapping was controlled (very poorly) with aluminum duct tape! I know, don't get me started...
The picture of the window by itself is above the two that are surrounded by siding. That is styro-foam in the gap! It probably blew out every high wind. The wall was soaked underneath the window, onto the floor, the ceiling and wall of the room below as well. The other two windows are side by side, with a shot of the Celotex below where my hand is moving the "flashing." Everything is hugely wet. The house was built in 1960, but this addition was some time later. Nothing done to code or with a permit, but, welcome to my world... |
