I agree with Jay.  I use the streamlight that is I believe 75,000 candlewatts.  Unbelievable and rechargeable.  $125.00 at first, but well worth the investment.  I have several different backups including a RIGID 18 volt lithium ion that uses the battery off of my cordless drill.

Spend a little and it last a long time.

I've got the Streamlight Polystinger and Stinger XT (won this at the ITA Convention in Vegas.) The I've used the polystinger for the past five years...no problemn and you can get them cheap on the internet. My back-up is a Task Force Super 3 Watt LED Aluminum Flashlight ($25 at Lowes.) Very reliable as well. Takes 2 'C' batteries.

The best flashlight out there is a Streamlight Survivor.  It's a right angle light with a rechargable base (AC or DC).  The good thing is a clip on the back to clip on your belt when not in use.  It's made for firefighting.  I own two, one is 6 years old and still going strong.  One for inspections, one for firefighting.
