I've done my first inspection using HIP and took advantage of the free trial of the report upload service. That worked fine. The question I have is, I got a minor complaint from the Realtor that he had to "register" to see the report?  Since I'm not seeing it from his side, I was not aware of this requirement.
Is this true or did he just not get it right? ???

Dana

This is my opinion on the upload feature.

Yes the agent has to register the 1st time to use the feature. Must use same email to register. (Dom may have added additional emails)

My agents really hated it and begged me to not use. I send my reports as a PDF attachment. I also like to add some comments to the emailed report.

I do upload all my reports and send them to me. This way they are stored on Doms server and if my PC crashes I still have access to my reports. Also make sure you use the address and city to tag reports as it makes it easier to referance.

The upload has saved me from losing reports as I did have a PC crash.

But most of the agents around here did not like the registering process and upload service in general. This is just my thoughts and not the opinions of others.

Guess I'll be sticking to my tried and true Google Docs upload system I've been using successfully for a while now.
I get storage of the report and a notification to the client and Realtors and all they need to do is click the link to view or download the report. I have 20 gigs of storage with Google for a whopping $5 a year. Going broke trying to keep up.  ::)  Plus, I've just added Carbonite to the backup scheme.

Currently I keep at minimum of one full clone of every drive updated at least weekly (I have 4 computers currently) plus the Google Docs files and now Carbonite.  I think I'm covered. ;D

Oh, and two of the machines are running OopsBackup which keeps a real time backup of everything that goes on on that computer. Every time a file changes, the program backs up the change in the background in real time.  I got more backups than Carter has pills.

Give Dom time to chime in as I do not want to discourage you from the service, it is just my opinion.

The upload service works AWESOME for some agents, and the lazy ones hate it. It does require them to register ONE time and sends them the username as a reminder every subsequent time.

Quite a few guys have secured an entire office because a single office manager wants control over all the reports. Agents can view ALL the reports you've done for them for 5 years.

Clients don't need a login, they get a direct link.

You can an email each time someone views the report so you can track things.

Tech Savvy agents love it, people can't turn a computer on will ask you to fax it ......
