TOPIC: Inspection cost

Good Morning, I have a request for a $ to inspect a 10 unit apartment built around 1940. Most SFR I do I charge $300. or so. I am located in Los Angeles Ca. Anyone have any Idea what you might charge  ???

Need way more information:

1.  Slab or raised foundations
2.  Size and configuration of each unit.
3.  Any additional garages or out buildings.
4.  Occupied or vacant.
5.  Full inspection or some limited inspection protocol.

I agree with Will. I'd also quote 2 prices, one for inspecting half the units, one for all. As Will mentioned in #5, this helps you be competitive and some people only want a representative sample.

Don't give your services away either.  One thing for sure, Los Angeles, built in the 40's, rental properties....These structures are no doubt on raised foundations and most likely in "Train Wreck" condition.  They'll have uncooperative tenants with cats, dogs and lots of attitude.  You'll be expected to find everything thats wrong and cut your charges to the bone.  You'll be lucky if you can get them done in two days, maybe three depending on size of the units.

Pack a lunch:) 

And in some areas you may have to pack something else..
