To all you Mac gurus out there:
Need some advice. I just got a MacBook Pro. I do my reporting in my office, on a Windows 7 Desktop. Question: Should I run Mac OS HIP version, or run Windows HIP on virtual Windows, so that I can sync field work from the Mac to my office PC? I also got the software: “Parallels Desktop 6 Switch to Mac” http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/stm/ to be able to run Windows applications on Mac OS. Thanks |

No no no no no. You do NOT need to run HIP in a Virtual Machine. HIP is the TRUE Mac inspection program which is why we have tons of Mac users.
Install the Mac version. ALL templates, inspection files and EVERYTHING else is completely transferable between the two. Start an inspection on a Windows machine and finish it on a Mac, not a problem!! |

Serge:
I do my Report on site on a Windows 7 (2Go) and finish up on a MacBook Pro. You can transfer with a thumb drive or Dropbox. Just remember to save your current template back and forth between the machines. |

Thank you, John. I appreciate any input from Mac pros. I'm so new at this Mac stuff--still figuring out what I'm going to do. Got to get comfortable with the mac interface first.
Thanks, to Dominic also. |
