I do it the same way John does (at least until the iPad version of HIP is ready). The important thing is to remember the templates, as John said. The template will move with the report but once you are finished make sure you save the template and then move the "new" template back to the other machine.
I find that I will make changes while doing the inspection, on the Windows Tablet, and then maybe make a few more on the MacBook as I finalize the report. So my template is ALWAYS being changed, but others may not make any changes to the template. You will need to see how you do it and just make sure you keep both computers synced. Julian |

OK, let me see if I got this right.
1. I can take my templates and saved comments off my PC and transfer them to a MAC desktop? Is that easy to do? 2. Do I have to buy a new HIP for MAC? 3. Why not just use parallels or boot camp? Is there a disadvantage to that? I am asking because I am having trouble with my PC, Sometimes I can't turn it on, probably the power supply, which I could change, but the wife doesn't know that!!!lol It is a great excuse to go buy the MAC I have wanted for years. |

As Dominic states above: "You do NOT need to run HIP in a Virtual Machine. HIP is the TRUE Mac inspection program which is why we have tons of Mac users.
Install the Mac version. ALL templates, inspection files and EVERYTHING else is completely transferable between the two. Start an inspection on a Windows machine and finish it on a Mac, not a problem!!" |

Serge, hey man it's good seeing you around again!! I have a ton of new features about to roll out in HIP 3.1 that you'll love. Did you try the photo border feature yet in 3.0.5?
Mike, what Serge said is correct, no need for parallels or boot camp. The disadvantage to using those is that it involves running Windows on a Mac. So you're running two operating systems at the same time which slows things down. Plus you're not using the Mac anymore! |

Mike:
Serge and Dominic are right. I use a Windows tablet for inspections and transfer to my Mac with a thumb drive. Real easy and painless. The other advantage is that you always have two backups if one machine goes down. Go for it, we'll keep it from the wife. John |

How do I get the HIP onto the MAC? Do I need to use my CD, or do I transfer it from a flash, or do I purchase the program again?
