TOPIC: Additional Status for Summary

I am currently evaluating new software for my team. Our current software allows us to have two statuses in the summary section.  First we have a not to serious section let's call it "marginal" for this thread the text is not red with photos.  Second are more serious items let's call it "defective" which we post in red for the summary with photos.  While trolling through the forums it appears this additional status (marginal) has been requested previously.  Would you be able to inform me if this is in the pipeline and possible delivery?  This information would be ideal in aiding me with my software evaluation.

Scott, is the "marginal" summary auto populated like the summary or is this something that you currently do manually? And if it is automatically done, is it based on the color or do you assign something to designate that it is marginal? How many colors do you use in the report?

Is what is in the Defective and marginal summaries also in the report?

Just choose a secondary color for your "non-red" items in the summary.  I do it all the time and use blue.

It is one summary with multiple colors.  If you are talking about two summaries, one for each color, ignore.

Yes both the marginal and defective are auto populated in the summary section and both are still present in the report body.  I can assign any color to the two statuses in the summary.  It is when we choose an item to be either marginal or defective that is populates the summary with the respective color.

I think I looked at this and from what I can tell the status is not different just the color.  Sorry I should have elaborated that we are looking for a summary that has two statuses (e.g. marginal and defective).

There must be something that is confusing to either or both of us.  The summary is the summary.  There is no "status" unless you give it a "status".  If you want both "status" levels in a summary, you can only do it by color. 

If you have one item that is always "marginal", then always make those blue or green or whatever.  If it is defective, then always use red. 

I use a specific statement at the very beginning of my report that states what the blue means.  I mark it as a "defect" so it populates at the very beginning of the summary.  No way to miss it that way.

Stephen, I think Scott wants two types of summaries. One for more defects and another for "marginal" things.

Scott, there is no automated way in HIP for this. Like Stephen said, you can show one summary with multiple colours and a legend that expands what the colour means.

The other way would be to manually create your "Marginal" list as a extra tab and some cutting and pasting.

I can see how you creating lists might make the client's reading shorter, as they do not have to read the whole report. But a summary by definition is collection of all the important information found in one place.

My view would be to give a summary of items that they need to address/weigh in their decision process and the rest is in the report for them to read.

Again, no automatic way but you could manually do it.
