Possible future addition to the to-do list
I am beginning to enter more and more comments using the "Caption" feature, I now almost need / certainly need a search Feature to find my "Caption" comments Also, is it better to "click on the "Caption" feature at the end of the "comment" as the Caption will not show up before the "Comment" saving on space in a small tablet screen. |

The Caption feature should only be for your common captions and they're particular to each section/item in the report. How many are you adding up with?

Why not do the comments first and THEN select the captions? That's how HIP was setup. If you put every comment into the caption that will ending up causing all sorts of issues.

In my opinion, the caption should describe the photograph more than the issue.
ie. Broken window add location. My report sequence: 1.fill out data on page 1. 2.upload photographs. 3. slot the pictures to report sections; and a short caption describing the photographs; adjust picture / add arrows in circles etc. 4. Go through the report tabs. You may come to a section with several photographs that you can cover in one paragraph rather than several. ie. You could have several broken windows, a storm door window, and moisture between the glass panes all in one paragraph. All these issues are the concern of a class contractor. |

Hi David
That's pretty much how I enter data and pictures when using the windows based laptop. Every time I start using HIP mobile for data input and picture collection, I find it cumbersome. Maybe it's something to do with "teaching old dogs - new tricks" However, when there's life there's hope. Next week I intend to use a 8 inch windows tablet to collect data as I inspect, using a windows OS that I am familiar with. I also intend to use an android camera to solely take pictures, slot them in the appropriate section and "Caption" the pictures on the go. Hopefully merging the HIP mobile Android Photo centric report with the windows based data collection system will be a step forward. My main concern is not knowing how HIP windows will look like on an 8 inch windows device for data input. Peter |
