TOPIC: Home Inspector Pro 3.4.5 Beta Released

Home Inspector Pro 3.4.5 Beta Released 11 years 11 months ago #51009

Hi Guys,

Here's the Windows beta version of 3.4.5. Update notes are below! I included back to 3.2.8 as that's what most people are using right now.
www.HomeInspectorPro.com/dmdocuments/HomeInspectorPro-3_4_5.exe . If you have any issues, just run the previous update installer from our site.

Home Inspector Pro 3.4.5 for Mac BETA is below. I suggest making a copy of your HIP folder before installing. The 64 bit is preferred if you have a 64 bit machine (click About Mac under the apple , top left to check).

3.4.5

Design Change: Code changes made to make HIP capable of uploading reports that can be opened by iPhone/iPad

Design Change: Made additional changes so everything above a watermark could be completely transparent.

Design Change: Added a new Upload Report button on main toolbar (same as Internet->Upload Report)

Bug Fix: Resolved issue with new advanced color feature when multiple items moved to the summary.

3.4.4

Bug Fix: Issue with summaries created in 3.4.2 & 3.4.3 fixed.

3.4.2

Design Change: If you click delete and have 1 black comment and 1 red comment selected you'll get a warning message to make sure you're sure you want them both deleted.

Bug Fix: The button to auto select only sections with comments in them when generating the report wasn't working correctly 100% of the time. Fixed.

Bug Fix: Fixed issue with lists created in 3.4.1

3.4.1

New Feature: Report Settings->Formatting->Advanced Colors. This option gives you the ability to add unlimited colors to all your narratives. This is something you should be careful of using if you decide to enable it as reports can easily become confusing to your clients if you overdo it! A drop down box of colors will be displayed when editing comments. If you color a comment and select it to be used in the report the selected color will override the default selection or damage panel colors you have set for your report. If a comment is not colored using the drop down it will have the default selection panel or damage panel colors.

New Feature: Transparent option added to Item Description background to accomodate watermarks on stationery.

Design Change: Increased cover photo quality.

Design Change: HIP will now launch the PDF when you click Generate Report with the default PDF viewer, even if it's not Adobe Reader.

Design Change: Warning comes up if you click Insert Sketch but already have an image in the slot. This prevents accidently clicking the button and having your photo cleared.

Design Change: When copying report sections the fonts and color used will copy as well.

Design Change: Address Line 2 prints on cover page if something has been added to it.

Design Change: Updated the Spanish translation files so the full HIP interface including menus, help tips, etc all are in Spanish.

3.3.2

New Feature: Multiple inspector licenses can be loaded into one copy of HIP. Select which license you want to use via Edit->Company Information

New Feature: "Select Sections With Comments Or Ratings Only" button added to Section Colors & Print Order. This button will go through all the sections and only check off pages that you've commented on or checked a rating in. This makes it easy to set which sections should print.

New Feature: "Select All" button added to Section Colors & Print Order to check all pages at once.

Design Change: If you have text to the left of a RecallChek field it will now be ignored. This allows you to do something like this: Refridgerator Model: RecallChek Model Frigidaire which would show on the report as: Refridgerator Model: Frigidaire and only send Frigidaire to RecallChek.

Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where not all appliances being added were being sent if you skipped rows on the data collection form.

3.3.1

Design Change: More work on making the interface more flexible for other languages.

3.3

New Feature: Pictures can be set to print on the summary page now. Just check the summary box next to each image while setting what section they'll appear in.

New Feature: Font on the summary page that lists the page & item and the section title can now be changed via Report Settings->Formatting.

Design Change: Increased the amount of text fields throughout the program that can be changed into other langauges.

3.2.8

New Feature: Added ability to change the font of the text on the cover under Report Settings->Formatting.

New Feature: Tool tip popups added to the edit list window when long narratives are on the right.

Design Change: Increased the number of RecallChek appliances that can be entered to 25.

Bug Fix: Number of columns set to display on a selection panel via Report Settings->Options displays correctly.

Question about the new advanced color option...

I don't think that I will use it as it is.  I agree that too many colors will get confusing.  However, there is a scenario that I will explain that would be great to have extra advanced color options!

The summary page gets generated in all red (in my template).  Sometimes, I get hired to perform a re-inspection/repair inspection.  Not very often, but sometimes.  After taking my notes onsite, I open the original inspection and save it under a new name.  Then, I modify the Red damaged panel items to include new info from the re-inspection.  It would be great if I could change the color of that item at that point.  For instance, I would leave anything that was not repaired as red, change items that were repaired to blue and change items that were not supposed to be repaired to black.  Thus, the new report would have the same items on the summary page as the original report but only the items that had not been repaired would still be red.  So, is it possible to add a color change option on the right side of the damage panel?  Thanks.

That could be added as an option down the road. Right now you'd need to update it on the right but that could be changed later.

Dominic,
I had 3.4.3 installed.  It did not move the red items to the summary page.  I have backed up to 3.3.2 and it is working.  Thanks.

Eric, I've actually updated this thread 3 times with 3.4.1, 3.4.2 and 3.4.3. You might not have had 3.4.3 installed (unless you checked under About). That was found in 3.4.2 and fixed in 3.4.3. If you can update again and see if you can replicate the issue I'd appreciate it.
