Please give my PA site a good critique. The search engine rankings are really good, usually page1 but it does bounce around once and a while. The problem I am having is I get NOTHING from this site not a single phone call. I have been under the assumption that the area is dead, I now think there could be that something is scaring people away. Thanks.

I'd start out by removing the first sentence in your site. You start out advertising to your Philadelphia purchasing client that you're based in Medford, NJ. While I realize they aren't far apart. It's another state, and it's not in Philly. Clients want to feel they're getting an inspector who knows their area. This is a Philadelphia site. Concentrate on Philadelphia and surrounding PA cities.
Move your guarantee up towards the top of the page. It's hiding down at the bottom and is a good selling point. Your logos have all been resized and almost all of them are fuzzy or unreadable. See if you can get a better original to resize and improve the quality. Shrink your form area on the Ask an Inspector page, it's pushing the right sidebar off the page. Move your qualifications up, change I have taken InterNACHI's Structural Course. to I have passed InterNACHI's Structural Course. Add a pricing page but state that prices depend on age and size of home and to contact you for pricing. Other than that, I see you as #8 on page 1. Keep moving up and you'll start getting calls. |

I am starting to make some of the changes that you said now. Most of the images that I have are directly from the source that created them, for example the Nachi certified emblem. I then do any resizing right away when I upload the image. Is there a better way to resize and have them come out cleaner?

Resize with photoshop or GIMP for better quality. Also NACHI has other images which are better quality that you can use. Resize those instead.

I can not compete with Dom on the SEO side of things but can tell you that the site is exciting as Plain White Bread.
Need...Graphics Need...Different fonts Need anything to keep the page from putting myself and web surfers to sleep. Need to grab attention Add a slide show or something...please The template is very mono tone and needs contrast. Ok and what about that header???? Homespec or whatever it is looks like a abbreviation and is actually irritating. |

Well.... I thank you Bob for your comments.... I think? I agree after looking at the site and your comments that the site needs to step it up. I have already started to change fonts and some colors to the text.
There are four slide shows already in the site, and the homepage show gets rotated between four different shows that I have with different inspection pics. The header I thought resembled Philadelphia to a tee, so that is why I used it. Maybe with added colors and images that will help. Homespect LLC is the company name and I don't think I will be changing that! Sorry if that irritates you. Part of the problem is that Google Analytics says I am just not getting the traffic, therefore I haven't really had the opportunity to bore anyone. ??? |
