An area including a basin with one or more of the following: a toilet, a tub, or a shower., a urinal, a foot bath, or a bidet. An area including a basin with one or more of the following: a toilet, a urinal, a tub, a shower, a foot bath, a bidet, or similar plumbing fixtures.” Panel Statement: The panel has accepted the submitter’s recommendation in principle and added additional words to include similar plumbing fixtures. Hey Joe,
Welcome to the boards! I totally understand the urinal and bidet. But a foot bath? Why would a room with just a foot bath be considered a bathroom? |

Ahh, missed that. Ok so basin, aka sink. I guess that would answer Rick Maday's questions about a closet with only a toilet in it. Not a bathroom....

Not for NEC purposes, I'm sure the NEC definition has more to do with what's required electrically. ie, since the toilet in the closet is not a bathroom by NEC standards, typical NEC bathroom requirements do not apply. |
