J/K. Some are ok but not to many. Had an foreclosure inspection with this obnoxious agent. According to him evrything is ok. It doesn't matter if the roof is just about readfy to fall off.Half the plumbing fixtures in the house are gone pipes are even cut. He wants me to turn on the water. Even though I am pretty sure the system is winterized still. He says no it 's not I asked him to show me proof that it was de winterized. the funniest part is I said if you turn on the water the house will flood he said that he would put his finger over it nice guy huh. I told him I am not operating any vavles.Gets better pilot light is off for hot water heater he can't understand why I will not light it LOL. Gettin better he then tells me outside that if I want him to refer me to clients next time I better turn on the water.Gets better I find out that he did refer his client to me Because I did do a inspection for one of his past clients. I also liked when he told the clients from yesterday that they a year left on the roof. I would not give it a month. The house was a mess 60amp service water issues in the basement. Foundation for one of the 2 crawlspace was cut through with drills and a jackhammer crawlspaces full of debris. I will post some pics. I am pretty sure that he will not refer me anymore . I am glad I do not want to work with someone so dishonest. I rather not have the work. The worst part was the clients really trusted this guy, he did not have best intrests at heart. I did but it seemed like they took his word over mine. That is ok evrything is in the report. I am proud of the inspection I did I was not going to let this bufoon bother me

Real estate agents have great marketing skills, they can get buyers to believe most anything. It sounds like in this case they had all ready had the potential buyers believing that this was a great fixer up er, with a few minor issues.
If they buy, stop back in 6 months and get your referral. Good luck Tim |

I know a lot of inspectors probably won't agree....
I'm not trying to single anyone out, but it's a common thinking that it's realtors vs. inspectors. It's really not productive/ We're kinda in this together. Never compromise your inspections, but if you are to survive...... I think you know the drill, always be professional AND thorough. I'm going to the MLS meeting tomorrow in my area. I will say "Hi" to agents who both like me and don't like me. I'm not sure how much business if ever I've gotten from meetings like this and such, but any name recognition can never hurt. Especially if you meet newer agents that haven't had the other side of the argument against us presented to them. Be on time, wear a smile and keep your years of "insight" to yourself sometimes. A good agent knows a thorough inspection protects them too. It may not seem like it sometimes but, you will see both sides of the fence. Saturday I did one that the agent was irratated with the situation, maybe me too. After all, I'm there and easy to blame. I'll say this and try to take it in.. let the negative aspect of what we do roll off your back Life's too short. A typical attempt was made by the agent to somewhat confront me or "call to task" on what my findings were. I declined and smiled, I indicated that I would make clear what I had found and thanked both of them..... And not to hesitate to call me as I realized there was going to be an extensive report on this one...ugh. Today, I booked an appointment for a referral from them. I'll see the same agent this week that was mad at me this weekend and had never met them before. Funny world. If you are inspecting homes, you are in the Real Estate world. Good luck out there Tim |
