TOPIC: water heater releif pipe?

Re: water heater releif pipe? 15 years 2 months ago #21613

Importantly.. the TPR valve was installed.... having made a few bucks when things didn't go so well, something IS better than nothing.

But, anytime a TPR discharge runs uphill, has threads on end or has a trap, terminates anywhere but outside or approved location (varies by area) and within 6-24" from floor/ground, in CA, TPR discharge in a Drain Pan is a no no IRC may be different or TPR discharge is not of an approved material.... Call it out.

Let your customer decide whether an application is "tolerable" for them. But, let them know when it's not to "standard"
