You guys are missing out on why we take higher res pics.  If you need to zoom in on the picture that 100k pic isn't going to do much for you.

A 3 megapixel image is equivalent to a printed 30" x 20" poster. I don't know if there's a camera that will natively even taken 100k images anymore.

It doesn't matter how big a 3 meg pic will print.  If you just took an 8 meg picture of the chimney from the ground with your phone that has no zoom you are going to need every pixel to digitally zoom in on the flashing clearly.  Once the pic is in HIP you lose that resolution and cant do much with it. This is while using mobile HIP.  If I'm using the camera and batch adding on the desktop then I always have a copy of the full res pics that I can work with.  Once the picture is cropped etc then hip's resolution is fine for the report.
