TOPIC: Selection Panels v Damage Panels

Re: Selection Panels v Damage Panels 11 years 8 months ago #52809

I am in concert with Peter and have gotten rid of just about every Selection Panel.  The only upside is being able to choose a different color which I don't care for myself.  It may be a better choice for those in States that only allow specific things in a "defect" summary.  Nothing like flexibility.  ;D

If you are doing material items in sections with very few issues then mixing the materials into the damage panel section
would cause it to take much longer to find them.

My reports have lots of details and material section is a blessing.

Material text will always be black.

That's what lists are for.  I wouldn't have a list of all possible sidings or interior finishes or anything else without making a list.  It is at the top of the comments as it goes in first.  There were times I wanted to make a minor addition to the selection pane and if you do and save our template at a later time, it saves the change.  Not so when you move it to the Black and change it there.

I prefer to keep material and damage comments seperate myself but nobody forces you to be more detailed and you can stick to lists, notes,or what ever.
You can even add material comments in photo edit if you wish.
Are you requesting Dom get rid of the option ?

I have enough to do going through all my issues comments without adding materials to the already large section.
There is no search as you type on the desktop version or is this about mobile?

The other thing is you can make material lists bullet and issues comma if you wish.
There is a difference and better way to do everything.

I think the Material Panel is a very good idea, however I believe it could even be better if you had the options available to the Materials Panel as what is already available to the Damage Panel.

In relation to Bobs last post, whether this would make any difference to HIP mobile, I think it's too early to say. Surfice to say, that if the HIP team can reduce the number of clicks when taking and inserting photos that will make the main difference by a country mile.

Peter I don't see how it makes sense to put material panels on the summary? It would just clutter the interface up.
