Re: HIP Mobile 11 years 8 months ago #52849

I've done a couple condo's and today was my first large home inspection with the mobile app.  I experienced the software locking up multiple times with the condo inspections but I was able to complete both without any major issues. It took a little longer due to the lock ups having to redo some areas of the inspection. Today was a different experience all together.  The program ran pretty smooth until I got further into the inspection. It locked up maybe 4-5 times.  When I got 3/4 way through it would not do anything so I put it down and picked up my back up clip board with inspection sheet.(Thank goodness) So, I'm here at the office uploading the completed portion and only about half of what I completed uploaded and no images uploaded at all. So now I'm going to spend the next 2-3 hours putting this puzzle back together.  I'm not sure what happened but I don't like doing double work.  I don't have time to do double work.  So I may wait until all the kinks are worked out first and then jump in.  FYI- Brand new, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1  - Also, a (Generate Report Preview) on the wind mitt app would be great.  That way you can look it over before uploading it to website. There's a reason microsoft created "print preview"

Hi Brett,

A preview isn't possible on the Android app as the server is where the PDF is actually created as the Android isn't strong enough to do what we want.

Have you been doing what I suggested and back out of the app half way through the inspection to free up the Android system memory? Are you using the public version or the new beta? Try restarting the phone and then uploading again. Make sure you're on wifi and that the phone doesn't go to sleep while you upload. Once that happens all data should upload, it's basically impossible to lose data on the devicve as it does multiple backups.

Thanks Dominic.  I did back out a couple times.  I didn't have a choice, it froze up.  I noticed the more photos you add to the report the more sluggish it seems to get. I got it from google play. Should I download it from somewhere different?  I get the "no preview" option.  It's just wishful thinking.  My Galaxy is the new Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, not phone.

Let me send you the latest beta. It'll be public soon and has a ton of changes. Go ahead and delete the templates on the version you have an uninstall it.

Brett the Beta does seem a little more stable to me.
I think you will like it better.

Sounds crazy but if for some reason your model has a few issues with pics you can always try just taking them and then going back to get them through gallery as well.

With my Galaxy Android Camera it is actually faster to take rapid shots in succession that way.
