TOPIC: Automating HIP

Hi Dominic,

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

I am in the process of trying to automate all the redundant clicking and entering on each report that is usually the same info over and over. My brother recommended a free program called auto hot key that would run a script to automate all the stranded items.
It looks like it may work well if I can get my licensed copy to open instead of the evaluation copy that seems to be opening. I have the exact address to the HIP.exe file. If I can get this to work I will post it for everyone here as I beleive it would eliminate the need for a pre-filled default template.

I've used a few of those in the past and they work nice. You'll just have to be careful not to rearrange anything.

As long as you only have one copy of HIP you should not be getting the evaluation version. Are you sure they're both pointing to the same link? There shouldn't be a difference otherwise.

That's really strange. How exactly is the macro program opening the software? Do you have it set to open C:\Program Files\Home Inspector Pro\HomeInspectorPro.exe ?

Yes Dominic thats the command I am using. I am using a macro recorder that I type in the program starting exe. command? Its really weird I searched both computers for the evaluation copy and found none.

When I record the macro it starts fine, its when I go to play (operate) the macro is when the evaluation copy opens???  ???

Really strange. If you click Open Inspection do you see your saved inspections there?
