If your client asks for all of the photos you took during the inspection would you release the photos to them. Why or why not?

I would. I always tell them I take about 100 pics, and about 30 or so make it in the report. Most are just visible reminders to me as to where I am in the home so I can remember while filling in the report. If there are three baths maybe I can't remember which one had a window, or which bedroom had no smoke alarm... They are mostly useless to the client, but why not? If they want'em, they can have'em. ?

I take a ton of pictures as well. however only a dozen or so make it on the report. I never had any one ask me for all the pictures. I would give them up in a heart beat. Why wouldn't you..

At a CE seminar recently, the presenter (who had regular contact with attorneys that represented clients in E&O cases) warned that those pics could be used against the inspector, as they could actually show where the inspector failed to report something. I can see his point, and I'd be reluctant to hand them over for that reason, but I am someone who always likes to help people...and I just haven't learned well enough that no good deed goes unpunished.
