Dana; ahh, I gotcha. Ya know that's not a bad idea, I tend to take more low res pics which does make for more work in the end; a whole room hi-res jpeg image would definitely simplify some things and you can zoom/crop to the details...thanks for sharing the idea, I may have to give that a try!
In regards to giving the images to the client; in all of my inspection experiences I've only given the client the pictures in the reports and the higher resolution copies only upon request. I agree with the comment in regards to being concerned with what else might be included in the background of the image that wasn't mentioned.... I know I've picked up on a few details while reviewing images, things of a more minor nature relative to what I was bring focus too, but important none the less. My basic process is to take images of items/issues that I will note in my report referencing the image number in my notes if notes are needed to clarify the image's purpose. I then do a short walk-around video if time permits. Upon return to the office I review my images and their content, crop, notate, save, and write the report. If I've taken a video I'll refer to it as needed. What I do for archiving I'll leave to your imagination rather than document it here for a later call for discovery. |
