What I have done is create a client file titled next inspection. It has my common illustrations and selections added. When I start a new report I open this one and save with current file. If I want to update template I use my next inspection file and then save template. I make notes for my template when I am doing current report. It saves some time. I am very anal and it takes me anywhere from 1-3 hours to complete report in office. I like the 3 pics across feature, looks sharp and shortens report length. |

I just purchased HIP in November 2011...and before that, I posed the same question to Dominic. I used 3D for years and they do have that option. However, after a couple months with HIP it's no longer a priority to me. I found the only components I pre-filled were very common items that were usually OK. It's like slotting pictures...with HIP I had to rethink the way I entered photos. I was use to slotting a pic as I typed my report...now I slot them all at once; and its extremely quick. At this point (for me personally)there is no real time savings with a pre-filled template. I always list my "OK" statements first in my templates...so its just click away. What may save some time is if I could just hit the "tab" key and have that move from tab to tab through HIP; and then click comments off in a damage/selection panel.

Based on my experience over the past few years, here are some items that I believe would speed up the reporting. Although they may be 'small' some can really add up over the many sections in a report.
a) A '<ctrl> Z' (or other undo) function to restore accidental deletions. b) Individual delete buttons for black and red sections would help eliminate accidental multiple deletions. c) Once moved to black or red, an item should automatically be 'un-highlighted'. d) Any time an item (selection or damage) is opened in an add or edit window it should automatically be returned in 'highlighted' condition when the edit is finished. e) Ability to set text in selection and damage panels to BOLD to help pick out commonly used comments. f) Integration with RecallChek to transfer appliance and equipment model and serial numbers. Anyone else agree? |

I would like to see an "initials" box added to the client signature section and then have the ability to put those initials in the contract where I need them. I have a two page contract and I use to have three sections with a sentence which the client would initial which stated they had read and understood those sections.
Alternatively, having the signature show on all pages of the contract would be nice as well. Either way there is a clear indication that your client was privy to all pages of the contract. |
