TOPIC: Converting from former website to new one

Re: Converting from former website to new one 15 years 9 months ago #9902

Old users would get redirected to the home page, but they'd see a login on the left so it's easy enough to figure out.

You should be signed up for adwords.google.com on your own, don't pay a 3rd party to do it. Use ads until you get yourself on page one of Google then cancel them as they aren't needed. If you're setting up another site, choose another city that you'd like to focus other than charlotte and do cityhomeinspector.com the same way.

Good idea thank you... do you have an instructional video or text about using adwords and adword campaigns?

Hi Robin,

When you switch themes, make sure to do it from the Themes menu and not under My Account (this only affects you when you're logged in rather than the public). Make sure the theme is enabled and then make it the default. I just switched it and it seemed to be working fine. Let me know if you have a problem and we can do a remote session to see what's going on.

Thanks Dominic!  I think I was in Themes and set up Theme 11 as default.  It was enabled and I saved the configuration.  I don't think I was in account.  Thanks for switching me.  I have lost all the sidebar work I had done on theme 5.  Is that normal?
I sent out direct mail to my clients about a new program we have going.  I really need to back this up with some info on our website.  All our clients are using our old website.  I'd like to forward the old website to the newwebsite here sometime today. How do I do this? I still need to add pages to my new website.  I would like to at least put up a skeleton site...and continue to add pages.  Is this a good idea or should I wait til I'm done?  I'm not sure how well I set up the pages for SEO either.  I still have alot of work to do But I really like your webhosting site and the support you give all of us.
The fonts are driving me crazy tho.  I can never get the right look the way I'm doing it.  Sometimes I think they have a mind of their own.  I think I need a new approach totally.  I have problems even when I type the info directly into the page and not copy and paste.  I think I'll try just typing the entire page first.  Then submit it. Then decide on the font and change it.  It doesn't seem to like it when you try different fonts or sizes or boldness.  Is this a good idea?  Should I be using notepad when I am typing the info in too?  Please help.  It's taking way to long to set up a page.  I spend more time on the fonts than I do on the content, layout and website design.  THanks!  Robin  Sorry for so many questions....
