Thanks.  I'm thinking about keeping the webpage with HomeGauge.  John wants to stay at the platinum level with them to stay higher on their home inspector lreferral list.  With the platinum level you get a website.  It's not much diff in money.  So I thought I'd have a home page at the old websiet that contained links to our new website.  Sounds like that might help with SEO. Is that correct?  Is this a good approach to take?
Thanks again, Robin

Hi Robin,

Yup that would work fine. And you're right, there's not much of a price difference, and 2 sites are always better than one!

Make sure you've submitted yourself to our directory here. It's the find an inspector directory off the first page.

Thanks.
I'd like to add us to your directory. But I'm not finding it.  I'm probably not looking in the right place.  I didn't understand your directions. Could you explain it alittle further?  I looked on the home page and the first page of the message board and didn't find it.
Thanks, Robin  Also I done alot of work on my website.  I wouldn't say I was finished.  There is alot more I'd like to add.  But. would you look over my website and critique it please?  I know I don't have any links yet.  But I was wondering how I did on the other SEO tips.  Thanks.  I'm switching from our website at HomeGauge to this one tomorrow (tues)  I just removed alot of pages from the old website and put in links to the new website since we have business cards and lots of emails pointing to our old site.  The old site is www.starmarkinspections.com   What steps should I take next as far as SEO?  What sort of adword campaigns should I set up and for how long?  Thanks so much.

Hi Robin,

Regarding the directory. Go to the Home Page of our website and on the bottom left or top right you'll see 'Find an Inspector.' Click it then Add Entry.

Regarding the ads. What are the main cities you're targeting?

Re: Converting from former website to new one 15 years 8 months ago #10235

Thanks. I found it.
We service about 30 cities in our area.  That's about a 25 mile radius.  Mostly small towns.  We've had so much developing going on here in the last 25 years.  All these communities are now towns.
You recommend limiting one website to 5 cities.  I guess maybe we should pick 5 that are geographically close together maybe?  Any suggestions?  I don't think anyone would search on ne charlotte or se charlotte.  They'd either search on charlotte or the county or the specific city.  I don't think they'd search mecklenburg county where charlotte is but they might search union county or cabarrus county or gaston or york or lancaster.  I guess the Charlotte metro area is pretty spread out.  All of the 30 cities have large developments in them.  We do alot of builders warranties.  Our realtors are spread throught the area too.  We didn't plan it that way.  That's just how the word about spread I guess.  That's ok.
We have two more domain names with charlotte in them.  thecharlottehomeinspector.com and askthecharlottehomeinspector.com  Our website with you is charlottehomeinspector.com  and our website with homegauge is starmarkinspections.com  Any suggestions about how to organize this for the best SEO.  I think currently starmarkinspections is far down the organic list on searches.  We've had sponsor ads.  We still have some but they didn't help much.  We also do commercial inspections.  I'd like to have a website for commercial inspections too.  John's background is in commercial project management for the City of Charlotte and for a large architectural firm.
Thanks for your insights.
