I have a blog with active rain, how do I get the blog information on to my new site so I don't have duplicate text issues and lower my Google ranking. I have not played with R.S.S. much, I'm sure it is simple.

Hi Scott,

You'd just copy and paste the text. Use the paste from Word button and check both boxes so you're not pasting the AR content with their code as that can affect your site. With blogs if they're only existing on two sites I wouldn't worry about the duplicate content issue. Just make sure that all the other pages of your site have unique content.

Active rain warned against copy and paste cause it can lower my ranking on the active rain side as well. I don't know a lot about this but they said I should be able to use a R.S.S. feed for all my blogs. Is that not possible on our web site?? I didn't mention but it is posted in more than one spot. It is syndicated on a few different places

If you use a RSS feed that's javascript it would not help your site's ranking at all and that's the only way to not have duplicate content. Ideally you'd rewrite some of the blog so it's not exactly the same but if it only exists on 2 sites and you have plenty of site content that's not blog then you should be fine.

How much of it is syndicated? Is it the whole blog or just part of it?

The whole blog I guess. If you get a chance take a look on my new site. It is not just one place it is syndicated in a few different places.

Maybe I should write each time in a different place on different subjects 1 time send it to AR the next send it to my site. alternate where I originally post.

The most important thing is getting your site to the top of the rankings. AR is good for meeting agents but your site is good for meeting clients. I'd start on your site more often if you can.
